Beaches Shipwreck beach is ideal for beach combing but water conditions are often not calm enough for swimming. Hulopo'e, on the south side of the island, is ideal for swimming.
Bike Riding Keomuku Beach Road: This coastal ride over a dirt road is 12 miles each direction. Near Road 460.
Mahana Trail: This six-mile (round trip) dirt road gains about 700 feet in elevation (starting at 1,000 feet at the trailhead). Good views of Moloka'i and West Maui. Near Road 430.
Shipwreck Beach: A scenic coastal ride on a northeastern facing beach (use caution during the winter, high-surf months). Near Road 430.

Garden of the Gods Colorful boulders and mysterious lava formations.
Drive west from the Lodge on Polihua Road; in about 2 miles (3km), you'll see a hand-painted sign that points you to the left, down a one-lane, red-dirt road through a kiawe forest and past sisal and scrub to the site.
Hulopo'e Beach White sand beach with underwater coral formations.
