Support >> Visiting Hawaii FAQ
WHY DO WE STAY AT THIS HOTEL/CONDO?
These accommodations reflect the best value/location most
suitable for the whole group and within the group's travel
budget.
CAN MY FAMILY STAY AT ANOTHER HOTEL/CONDO?
We recommend that all group participants and parents
stay at same location, for better communication, control,
and meeting purposes. If a family insists on staying at
another location, we will arrange it.
CAN WE EXTEND OUR STAY IN HAWAII? CAN WE VISIT OTHER ISLANDS?
Yes, you may be able to deviate from the standard group
package for an additional fee, subject to availability.
Contact Travel International Sports directly for all deviations.
You will be billed directly for any additional costs. If
you are considering any deviations contact TIS as soon as
possible once the group has booked.
CAN WE CANCEL OUR TRIP?
Yes, at any time. As with any tour package there are cancellation
fees by the airlines, hotels, tour operators and TIS. Generally,
cancellation fees increase the closer your cancellation
date is to the departure date. Please review the tour brochure/flyer
for details.
CAN WE INSURE OUR TRIP?
Yes, you can purchase Travel Guard Trip Insurance through
our internet site to protect your payments in case of cancellation
due to illness, injury or loss of valuables. We recommend
this insurance.
WHAT IS THE WEATHER IN HAWAII, WHAT TO WEAR?
Tropical weather, year around. Average temperatures; Day
75 - 85, Night 70 - 75. Occasional light rain in the afternoons.
Cool breezes. Bring cotton casual clothes, hats, sun glasses
and plenty of suntan lotion.
WHAT ABOUT FOOD?
There are plenty of fast food chains, like 7-Eleven, Pizza
Hut, McDonalds, Jack in the Box and many grocery stores
and shops. Grocery stores in Hawaii can be expensive, compared
to the mainland.
WHAT IS THE YOUTH SECURITY DEPOSIT?
Most hotels & condominiums in Hawaii request a Youth
Security Deposit (usually in the $50.00 to $75.00 range),
for each group member. This deposit is fully refundable.
It is collected in case the group members damage the hotel
premises. The security deposit is mailed to the hotel, generally
30 days before arrival, and is refundable after the group
checks out and all rooms are inspected. Some hotels will
allow the use of credit card charge slips upon check in,
which will be voided upon check out, or a letter of responsibility
signed by the group or organization manager. Each property
has its own requirements, please ask your TIS representative
for the specific requirements of your hotel.
