Welcome
to the King Kamehameha Hula Competition, held in Honolulu,
Hawaii! This international hula competition includes
both traditional and contemporary hula styles, featuring
male groups, female groups, individual chanters, and Kupuna
Wahine (Senior women) groups. A colorful event steeped and
based on the culture of the indigenous Hawaiian people,
now embraced by people around the world. Past participants
have come from Canada, Japan, Mexico, California, Nevada,
Texas and Hawai'i. Hula, created in Hawai'i, is alive and
thriving around the world.
Friday
6:00 P.M. - King Kamehameha Hula Competition
Held
at Neal S. Blaisdell Center Arena, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Admission fee charged. Tickets can be purchased ahead of

Saturday
1:00 P.M. - King Kamehameha Hula Competition
Competition continues. Awards and special presentations
will be made. Admission fee charged. Tickets can be purchased
